The Arc of Union County, Inc.

is a non-profit, 501c(3) organization headquartered in Springfield, NJ, dedicated to enriching the lives of individuals of all ages with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The Arc serves more than 1,000 adults and children each month from the 21 towns in Union County, as well as the greater Northern and Central NJ counties.

TheSupervisor, Residential Services is responsible to assure the delivery of quality person centered services to all assigned service recipients in accordance with the Agency’s goals of “Person Centered Planning” and within the guidelines of all Agency and DDD policies and procedures.

Provide a safe, secure, and dependable support and assistance in areas that are necessary for service recipients to achieve full social inclusion, independence, personal and economic well-being as approved by the Individual Service Plan (ISP).

Facilitate and ensure full social inclusion, independence, and personal and economic well-being of service recipients.

Responsible for building a staffing team, staff supervision including Assistant Supervisors, Residential and Residential Support Professional assigned to their program, the evaluation of staff and the recommendation and execution of personnel actions when necessary.

Skills: Proficiency in Windows software, Ability to use a data entry software math skills required.

Requires excellent interpersonal and conceptual skills.

Proficiency in all areas of service listed above.

Strong management, leadership, planning and communication skills required.

Ability to motivate staff, take responsibility for supervisory actions and establish quality controls.

Must be able to read, write and speak English.

Qualifications: Minimum of one-year supervisory experience, plus three years’ experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.

Demonstration of a thorough understanding of knowledge, abilities and skills outlined above.

Flexibility, and Demonstrated ability to thrive and perform in an ever-changing, fast paced and demanding environment.

Bachelor degree required, Bachelor in related field preferred.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: verbally communicate with others, maintain a stationary position (standing and sitting), move/traverse, kneel, bend, and reach with hands and arms for extended periods of time, lift up to 10 lbs, maneuver an occupied wheelchair, (navigate a Hoyer lift and or drive a 6 person passenger van
– depending on the position).

In order to effectively perform the essential functions of this role, the employee will be required to meet an array of physical demands to include ability to hear and repeat information, take notes, read documents, carry files and or paper materials and other physical duties as directed by your supervisor and/or Director.

Agility with wrist and finger dexterity to access, key and sort electronic information or to file documents required.
