Sr. National Testing Operations Manager-Location Flexible

Mgr, National Testing Ops-Sr – Monday-Friday

Basic Purpose:

To support all national and local Operations projects in a company wide effort to drive growth, operational excellence and to provide technical and operational expertise to regional and esoteric labs.  This person will work with National Testing Operations leaders to develop standardized processes relating to the management of an efficient workflow, medical quality and reporting of results on equipment and laboratory information systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Drive standardization of testing – common processes and instrument interfaces – platform optimization. 

  • Act as a liaison between national leaders, Operations, QIS, and IT to drive requirements and standards for instrument interfaces relating to eRFS development queue and QCM.

  • Drive instrument interface standards and regional consolidation.

  • Define QCM interface requirements, development, testing and training.

  • Audit laboratories for non-conformance to process standardization.

  • Support development of all training & competency materials for enterprise wide system

  • Work in regional labs – across multiple regions with current working knowledge of standard LIS and workflow processes.

  • Provide support for equipment choice/software upgrades – national leader relations, supplier interaction to determine impact to LIS.

  • Maintain vendor relationship in support of instrument workflow standardization – liaisons between national leader, lab operations, QIS and IT.

  • Work with IT resources to ensure interface requirements are met and coordinate regional testing & training to test systems and applications.

  • Coordinate resolution with Medical/national leaders/QIS/IT/regional ops instrument interface issues

  • Liaison between operations and suppliers to resolve issues relating to interface development

  • Assist IT/LOS and the lab to resolve issues that surface during process gap analysis, instrument set-up and validations, work with national leaders and operations to mitigate problems. Get final approval on interface documentation.

  • eRFS Queue prioritization, development  and deployment

  • Network Optimization interface and management report development and support

  • N/A – this position has no direct reports



Education Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 8-10 years of related work experience

Work Experience:

  • Technical expertise in standard LIS functionality, instrument interface development and workflow management  (Operations/IT applications)

  • Process improvement – understanding of process flow – green belt

  • Cross systems view

  • Testing processes and standards focused on quality service and efficiency

  • Regulatory compliance and managing compliance issues

  • Expense and Capital Management for QCM and adherence to budgets and guidelines

  • Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Up to 50% travel
