Who you are:

You are an energetic team player with a strong understanding of Lean-Agile principles related to portfolio management, business planning, and program management. You also see the benefit of extending Agile practices beyond the Product and Technology functions.

You’ve lived the business application software delivery lifecycle both as an individual contributor and as a people manager and have demonstrated success leading these efforts through influence. Even better if these business applications involved supply chain or B2B ecommerce.

You are passionate about using your Project and Portfolio Management, SAFe, and/or Lean certifications and change management experience to lead an organization in how it approaches the prioritization of competing initiatives and how it executes the business planning process. You aren’t afraid to roll up your sleeves and provide hands on execution when needed.

You have 15+ years of relevant experience in project and portfolio management and have demonstrated results delivering business value in both Agile and Waterfall delivery models. A plus if this experience includes business and/or agile transformation.

Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, you are willing to challenge the status quo in a highly collaborative manner.

What you will do:

In short – You will lead the Enterprise PMO function at GS1 US. As its leader you will work with stakeholders to align strategy to execution through the business planning and portfolio management processes and will be responsible for effective project delivery through the EPMO. You’ll also be a thought leader in maturing how GS1 US adopts Lean-Agile principles, particularly as they apply to modernizing our annual business planning process into a more iterative, continuous process.

  • This role is both a people management position that requires the ability to lead through people, and a senior individual contributor that expects to be hands on in the execution of portfolio management operations
  • Lead the introduction of Lean-Agile principles to portfolio management, business planning, program execution, and functional areas beyond Product and Technology
  • Partner with Technology Lead (RTE) in serving as a Lean-Agile Center of Excellence (LACE)
  • Responsible for Program/Project delivery and continuous improvement of Enterprise PMO templates and tools
