nnnn Job Description Summary: nnnn The manufacturing engineer is responsible for providing manufacturing support for existing products and for developing and introducing new products and equipment.nnnn nnnn Manufacturing Engineer Job Responsibilities:  nnnn Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators.nn Apply working knowledge of product design and assembly to the manufacturing process Create processes and procedures to help the company meet budgetary goals as well as performance quotas Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors.

Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout and devising new solutions to existing manufacturing problems Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished
– product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.

Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.

Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.

Provides manufacturing engineering information by answering questions and requests.

Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer’s instructions and established procedures; requesting special service.

Maintains product and process data base by writing computer programs; entering data.

Completes design and development projects by training and guiding technicians.

Liaison with a team of machinery operators, managers and product developers to ensure everyone is contributing to the common goal.

Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed Other duties as deemed necessary by management Requirementsnn Qualifications: nnnn nnMinimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering discipline.Minimum of 3-5 years related experience in manufacturing or assembly processesWorking knowledge of manufacturing / mechanical processes and equipmentExperience designing, operating, troubleshooting, or maintaining complex production machinery is desirableKnowledge of computer or PLC based machine control systems is desirableCAD experience (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) is desirableKnowledge of Lean / Six Sigma theory and practices is desirableStrong skills utilizing Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint) with the ability to learn new systems and tools quicklyGood mechanical / technical skillsAbility to prioritize and multi-task in a fast paced environmentPossess excellent leadership & teamwork abilities, and organizational skillsStrong written and oral communication skillsnn nn
