Who you are:

At your core, you are a salesperson, and you know that sales are so much more than just hitting your target. You love problem-solving, especially through building the right relationships (both externally and internally) to get the job done. You may be tired of the Monday morning commit calls, but still enjoy all the other aspects of the game. (Pitching an idea, getting people to see new things, getting the right decision-makers involved, etc.)

You don’t mind some rolling up your sleeves, because sometimes (ok, a lot of times) you know that’s what it takes. Persistence, perhaps even pleasantly persistent, is the name of the game.

You may have some retail industry experience and/or eCommerce experience and can leverage that experience and maybe even some existing relationships to get in front of the decision makes at your assigned account.

Finally, you are someone who seeks out opportunities to collaborate with great people – great people are everywhere at GS1 US, so there are plenty of opportunities.

What you will do:

In short – You will be at the cutting edge of standard-based product identification and the way the world does business. You will be breaking new ground both with eCommerce platforms (digital commerce companies) and helping them help their clients expand their businesses. This is managed by business objectives (MBO) position and not a commission-based position. There is a bonus for reaching the MBOs.

A successful engagement with your assigned accounts will include:

  • Account attendance at GS1 Connect (GS1’s annual conference)
  • Getting the account involved with various GS1 US initiatives
  • Obtaining information about how GS1 US can support the assigned account technically
  • Convince the assigned accounts to adopt GS1 US verbiage on their websites.
  • Engaging in conversations with the accounts on the best ways to educate and engage with their customers
  • And so much more!
