Regional Coordinator I

This is a Contract position in Merchantville, NJ posted November 20, 2020.

The Regional Coordinator I is responsible for implementation of the New Jersey Department of Health’s Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity for Prevention and Control of Emerging Infectious Diseases Grant (ELC). Working in the seven southern counties of New Jersey, the Coordinator will support grant activities focused COVID-19detection, response, surveillance, and prevention. The Coordinator will hire, train and supervise the activities of Community Health Workers to provide and improve access to community-based testing, tracing and related social services in the region. . This highly motivated individual will report directly to the SNJPC ELC Project Manager. The Southern Regional Coordinator I will oversee sub grantees and the day-to-day administration of the grant.  Activities include the creation of program plans, evaluation reports, public and internal communications, community events, and required grant reports. The Regional Coordinator I will manage and facilitate program scheduling and data tracking to enhance project quality and process consistency as assigned by the Project Manager.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree or bachelor’s degree and requisite experience of 5+ years
  • Management and coordination experience
  • Experience and ability to engage in the community, to include diverse and multicultural populations
  • Experience as a CHW, or working with CHW programs, a plus.
  • Experience with community organizing
  • Cross-cultural skills and abilities
  • Expertise in population or public health, including service delivery
  • Project management experience, including goal setting
  • Excellent communication skills, to include verbal and written
  • Experience in performance monitoring
  • Experience managing and maintaining technical budgets
  • Review and assessment of external community-based grantees
  • Experience in grants management, program evaluation and service delivery
  • Ability to collaborate and consolidate regional activities
  • Ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • MS Office experience
  • Ability to utilize electronic platforms
  • Ability to utilize virtual platforms
  • Valid driver’s license, current insurance policy and car

Essential Functions:

  • Set priorities for managing the field implementation of the ELC grant
  • Convene/direct all regional meetings, and representation on statewide ELC meetings
  • Collaborate with NJDOH program managers and regional grantees
  • Oversee outreach activities to ensure community engagement
  • Identify and sub-contract with key stakeholders currently outreaching vulnerable populations
  • Develop RFP process for regional sub-grantees
  • Oversee building population of Community Health Workers through subcontractors or in-house
  • Oversee program sub-grantees to ensure adherence to contracted program deliverables
  • Submit monthly and expenditure progress reports to NJDOH ELC program manager
  • Purchase, approve and manage the purchase of program equipment and supplies as needed by the staff and program
  • Oversee daily operations, scheduling and coordination program activities
  • Supervises maintenance of records and files
  • Oversees data collection and reporting as required of the program
  • Plan and arrange special events
  • Work in collaboration with NJDOH ELC program manager
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Public Health Programs in collaboration with NJDOH LC program manager

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to see to read documents and hear well enough to communicate with others
  • Must be able to write, type on a computer, and use a telephone
  • Must be able to operate a motor vehicle
  • Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds

Work Environment:
Travels regularly to sites where traffic, weather, and other environmental conditions may be encountered; otherwise works in a climate-controlled professional office environment generally free from hazards and other adverse working conditions
