The Global Project Engineer
– Reliability position is a high impact position based Air Liquide Advanced Materials corporate headquarters supporting new projects for all ALAM sites worldwide.

This role is part of the ALAM Reliability group and is focused on providing support to new projects.

This role will play a critical part in implementing a reliability focused mindset in new projects and help to ensure a smooth transition to operational and maintenance teams at construction completion.

This role will participate in projects across ALAM’s Global Footprint.

Located in Branchburg, NJ

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Bring the company motto of “Do it Safe, Do it right, The first time” into all decisions and actions.

Bring a mindset and voice to project teams supporting the goal of long term reliability in new equipment and process designs.

Provide guidance to other project engineers on equipment selection to ensure reliability.

Responsible for leading cross functional assessments of new equipment and process designs for risks of potential points of failure or excessive operational downtime during the design phase of projects.

Evaluate equipment layouts during the design phase for accessibility and maintainability and provide recommended design changes for identified improvements.

Evaluate equipment and process designs for required isolation points for equipment maintenance.

Perform detailed Failure Mode Effect Analysis on new processes or equipment to identify potential failure modes and solutions to prevent those failures

Evaluate new projects for critical spare needs.

Assisting in quoting, procurement and tracking of critical spares.

Develop equipment inspection, testing and maintenance procedures for new and existing equipment including detailed task descriptions and schedules.

Define all required mechanical integrity inspections and frequencies required for new project equipment.

Compile equipment information and structure for population into the company CMMS program.

Investigate and analyze plant equipment failures by collecting failure causes, process data and equipment information.

Develop and recommend solutions in design, maintenance procedures or equipment selections.

Support plant maintenance and operational groups by providing technical guidance on equipment operation and maintenance procedures as priorities and opportunities allow.

Lead root cause analysis for critical equipment failures, including physical failure analysis in existing facilities as priorities allow.

Collect equipment data from drawings, equipment manufacturers, and existing operations to develop bill of materials and equipment data sheets.

Successfully complete all required training.

Required Qualifications

BS Eng (ME, EE, ChE)

5+ years of Project experience in Semiconductor, Chemical or Pharmaceutical industry.

Experience in Reliability, Maintenance or Operational roles

Experience in identifying reliability concerns in new projects or processes.

Experience evaluating equipment, processes and systems for potential failure modes.

Experience in Facilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Shop floor experience with maintenance and operations in a manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of high purity gas installation techniques, and practices a plus.
  • Experience with eMaint
  • Experience training Maintenance technicians to utilize CMMS
  • Knowledge and training in Six Sigma/LEAN
