VP Manufacturing Strategy & Operational Excellence

ASSA ABLOY Door Group is looking to add a strategic and forward-thinking manufacturing operations and business executive with a demonstrated track record of developing strategy and implementing initiatives and programs that step change performance and ensure that the business meets the needs of customers and drives profitable growth.

Reporting directly to the President of the Door Group and working closely with the business leadership of the Group and the division, this individual will lead the manufacturing and operational excellence strategy and initiatives for the Door Group and will ensure participation in and compliance with divisional and global initiatives.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Develop, deploy and execute a multi-year manufacturing strategy that drives optimal performance and service across the Door Group
  • Champion process improvement, operational excellence and cross facility collaboration to achieve optimized performance across our manufacturing footprint and the achievement of business goals
  • Work with stakeholders and site leadership to define, prioritize and execute significant process improvement  projects while providing executive leadership support to strategic planning efforts and achievement of strategic objectives and metrics
  • Analyze key metrics and apprise stakeholders of observed trends, inconsistencies and opportunities
  • Drive accountability for both operational targets and business results
  • Help drive customer satisfaction and business sustainability
  • Lead, motivate and develop the team on an ongoing basis and provide feedback, counsel and coaching to drive practices and processes and overall company performance. Support the development of our operational talent pool and competencies.
  • Sponsor and participate in Councils across the Door Group and division to support the objectives of OP EX, Lean, Quality, Automation etc.
  • Play a key role in ensuring  that our site leaders and their teams  are identifying and implementing programs and actions that support a healthy and safe working environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum  Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field, Master’s in Business Administration an advantage
  • 10+ years of manufacturing operations experience including plant management,
  • Experience in a leadership role within a high mix/custom engineered, multi-site manufacturing environment, metal fabrication a plus
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Lean Systems and tools and other operational and quality systems
  • Proven record in business planning and analysis, budgeting, capacity planning and P&L performance
  • Demonstrated track record of engaging and driving teams in continuous improvement activities to improve operational performance
  • Travel up to 50%
