Warehouse Automation QA System Test/Validation Engineer

Position Summary:

The Warehouse Automation QA System Test/Validation Engineer will perform HW/SW system integration validation and performance characterization activities for the OPEX Warehouse Automation QA and Compliance Team.

Responsibilities

  • Execute hardware/software integration system validation and performance characterization activities for the OPEX Warehouse Automation QA System Test Engineering team.
  • Help define validation strategy and detailed test plans for new technologies and products under development, and work with internal and external test resources on test execution.
  • Track test progress, document bugs, and fixes and produce regular progress reports. Convert large amounts of data into a clear summary to communicate to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, and facilitate conflict resolution.
  • Create test setups, collect, and analyze data to help debug technical issues, and support cross-functional design engineering teams in driving resolution and verify fixes.
  • Work closely with the Warehouse Automation HW/SW product development teams and ensure alignment of validation and characterization plans.
  • Continually improve test infrastructure and architectures; maintain forward-looking roadmap
  • Participate in design reviews and make recommendations to support overall test strategy.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in robotics, consumer electronics or related fields, proven understanding of overall hardware system architecture common to robotics or consumer electronics products.
  • Experience helping to create validation plans for hardware/software platform products including developing test methodologies for new features and technologies.
  • Familiarity with testing subsystems such as power, sensors, display, touch, audio, camera, or Wi-Fi.
  • Communicates and helps drive issues to resolution across cross-functional teams.
  • Moves with a sense of urgency to drive progress and resolve issues.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong team player and creative thinker who can execute against validation plans.
  • Solid understanding of HW/SW product lifecycle, development process and eco-system.
  • Contributes to product validation sections of the engineering development process.
  • Working knowledge with software and system tools, metrics, KPI’s for driving issue triage, root cause analysis and resolution.
  • Familiar with issue tracking and collaboration software such as JIRA, Confluence, others.
  • Knowledge of common certifications and compliance requirements (UL, CE, RoHS, REACH, etc.) for industrial or consumer electronic devices.
  • Working experience working with test automation architecture and tool chain, test software development.
  • Master’s Degree in Electrical / Computer Engineering with 1+ years of experience.

Physical/Work Environments

  • Employee will be working in an office, lab, and production environment with occasional travel to customer sites.
  • Some walking between OPEX facilities
  • Employee may occasionally lift 50 lbs.
