Rudolph’s dedication to responsive service comes from a deep commitment to treating our customers with integrity, quality and innovation.IDENTIFICATION:Job Title:        Electronics Hardware EngineerDepartment:  EngineeringPosition:         Regular Full-Time       Status:            ExemptReports to:     Senior Manager, Electrical EngineeringSUMMARY:   Electronics Hardware Engineer needed for Electro-Optical Analytical Instrumentation.Detail hardware design for new and existing products; Digital, FPGA, microprocessor, mixed signal and small motor drives. 1 – 3yrs of engineering level experience in relevant industries. Recent graduates will be considered. Carry out technical duties as assigned while exercising independent judgment and initiative. Support all phases of a products cycle. ( product development, sustaining, manufacturing and legacy) . This is a “hands on” position and it is expected to become knowledgeable of all aspects of Rudolph Research Analytical instrumentation. Excellent communication and writing skills is an important facet to this position. Be able to thrive in a small corporate culture is key.This position reports to Engineering R&D group WORK PERFORMED: Essential Functions:Digital, mixed signal and microcontroller hardware design DC-100MHzDesign / Development of various multi-layer PCB’s concept through productionC/C++ programing and firmware integration and testWork closely with firmware group supporting design specifications in the hardwarePrototype hardware design and testingHands on work to support: firmware, electronic and mechanical designSustaining Engineering functions as assignedVerbal and written communication skills General Duties and qualifications:Function as part of a small cross functional engineering team developing electronic and electro-optical systems for laboratory and factory instrumentation. Combining both hands on and computer based working solutions. Design and develop circuits, circuit boards and FPGA development.Functional simulation tools to analyze and validate circuit performance and understand real world tradeoffs. Be comfortable in working within a dynamic, shifting priority environment.Detail design qualifications:  Digital circuit design, Microcontrollers (Atmel, Microchip, STmicro), memory and clock distribution for low noise applicationFPGA (Altera/Intel) based solutions for audio frequency range waveform synthesis and analysis.  Desired qualifications:Scripting languages ( Javascript, Lua, Python)Embedded LinuxSystems knowledge based design of Electro-optical instrumentationExperience with TI supported SOM / SOP technology , such as Beagle,Experience with ArduinoDSP based design and sensor acquisitionSerial communication protocols and terminal shell scriptingLabVIEWCAD software skills: Printed circuit design, SolidWorks Thorough knowledge in use of Engineering Lab test equipment (i.e. DSO, DVM, spectrum analyzer, etc) Travel (10%) for customer and compliance related support functions as requiredREQUIREMENTS:Experience:1 -3 years Engineering experience Education:BSEE degree, MSEE desirable Interpersonal Skills:Excellent verbal and written communication skillsCapable of juggling various projects and issues simultaneouslyComfortable with changing and challenging work loadsWORKING CONDITIONS:Private office space.Rudolph Research Analytical is a respectful, professional environment.    HOURS:Monday thru Friday                                               8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. SALARY RANGE:  Annual salary $60,000 -$75,000 depending on experience.
