Production Services Lead – Core Technology Infrastructure

Job Description:

Looking for experienced Application Production Support lead for ETL Support applications, which involves analysis of issues (Data and code),fixing minor bugs/code changes, resolving incidents, performing change requests, monitoring jobs, supporting PROD environment activities, application management, co-ordination for server maintenance, co-ordination with up and down streams application and working with LOB to help figure out issues within the GHR Technology portfolio. Candidate will provide production support and application management Data and Reporting applications.  The individual will not only be the portfolio lead but will be a working member of the team.  Day to day task requires the ability to solve production outages or other major business impacting issues under tight deadlines, which may include defining root cause and problem resolution follow-up.  Performing production support tasks including performance monitoring, proactive system health checks, managing application patching, performing disaster recovery exercises and application access reviews as needed. Work closely with line of business, vendor and development teams on identifying ongoing problems, suggest solutions and implement improvements. Review upcoming projects/deliverables with development team on a regular basis.  Identify/escalate governance issues as needed. Ensure production and performance SLAs are current and they are always met. Escalate issues which need attention. Creation of knowledge transfer/how to documents to highlight production support procedures.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead GHR Technology portfolio support team ensuring application stability and deliverables are completed on time.
  • Keep schedules, make tight deadlines, work timely and independently. The expectation is that this person will be responsible for day to day operations keeping the system healthy.
  • Send out timely and effective user communications.
  • Prioritize or engage management in situations when prioritization is a challenge.
  • Lead meetings and triage calls.
  • Identify incident root cause and corrective actions.
  • Implement automation and performance improvement.
  • Day to day task requires the ability to solve production down situations under tight SLA deadlines. Root cause and problem resolution follow-up,

Required Skills:

  • Performing root cause analysis and documenting an IA along with fix details. Coordinating with an end user on the fix confirmation and implement it to resolve the issue.
  • Involved in query performance tuning in case of performance degrades and causing SLA miss.
  • Supporting BAU activities on daily basis like JIRA ticket resolve, daily PROD job monitor and adhoc email requests.
  • Supporting ETL and DB server maintenance activities, upgrade, patching and storage addition.
  • Coordinating with upstream/ downstream application to resolve if any issue with interface jobs and deliver the data to LOB on time within SLA.
  • identifying Risks with PROD by an impact analysis and implement permanent solution to remediate it. Example if upstream data issue which is causing our application down, implement a workaround to keep our application stable till upstream fix it.
  • Involved in client meetings to understand the requirement and the defect they have raised through JIRA and implement the request as discussed.
  • Monitoring production scheduled daily, weekly and monthly jobs without fail & enhancing the performance of the jobs in case of SLA miss.
  • Work with team to automate an existing manual processes.
  • Application management to be compliance with all process. Access annual review, TRP, SOP, btconverge, etc.
  • Participate in ETL and DB DR Activities and keep required documents upload in FRAME.
  • Providing the weekly/monthly report and metrics to management.
  • Maintain an application and system knowledge documents in SP site and discovery.
  • Managing an application offshore and onshore teams as a lead
  • Knowledge on Batch Management, scheduling tools like Autosys etc.
  • Knowledge of UNIX, Informatica Client, Oracle, SQL scripting
