Specimen Accessioner/Client Services PT 7am-12:00pmJob descriptionAllied Digestive Health, Pathology Lab is looking for a night shift Accessioner to work in our Red Bank Location to join a fast growing program!Schedule and Hours: Monday – Friday 7 pm to 3 am (40 hours per week)Job Responsibilities include:Receives, sorts, and processes all incoming specimens for testing.Accurately enters/transcribes test requisitions, and orders appropriate tests with required speed and accuracy into the Laboratory Information System (LIS).Assigns accessions, prints labels, cassettes, and slides.Effectively initiates, documents, investigates, communicates, and resolves specimen receiving problems, errors, and inconsistencies.Communicates promptly with Lab Manager if any irregularities have been identified.Promptly answers or returns calls and attends to patients’ or customers’ inquiries.Sends specimens to reference laboratories as needed.Performance routine maintenance of equipment and troubleshoots equipment failures.Responsible for filing, tracking, retrieving specimens and accurate record-keeping,Maintain a safe and clean workspace at all times.Maintains departmental logs and timely follow-up of pending reports.Maintains excellent attendance.Unpacks and restocks supplies and verifies orders received and stocks inventory areas.Adhere to Personal Protective Equipment Compliance Procedure.Complies with all Lab procedures and all local, federal, CLIA, and CAP regulations.Requirements:Demonstrates a high degree of care and attention to detail in technical data interpretation and transcriptionAbility to type fast while maintaining a level of exceptionally high accuracy.Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.Good written and verbal communications.Medical Terminology is helpful.Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Ability to manage multiple activities and deadlines.Basic Proficiency in Word and Excel and general working knowledge of computers for business use.Good organization and time management skillsSelf-motivated and self-directedKnowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, and other healthcare-related areas and the ability to be trained and follow these guidelines.Allied Digestive Health is a successful, integrated network of multiple gastroenterology Care Centers.
